SCHOOL OF OPERATIONS RESEARCH :
OPERATIONS RESEARCH AS AN ASSET FOR DEVELOPMENT

Porto-Novo, November 14 – 19, 2011

The first school in Operations Research supported by IFORS and EURO will be held at Porto-Novo (Benin) on November 14-19, 2011.
The main purpose of this school is to accompany the effort of developing OR in Africa. Hence, the school is mainly destined to African young researchers and graduate students (Masters and Ph.D) but also to teachers that would to update their experience on Operations Research. This event aims at showing how OR could help in resources management and contribute to the development in Africa.
The program involves short courses (6 hours) and some advanced mini courses (1 hour) and students selected presentations (30mn including questions) in the following (non exhaustive) topics:

    1. Linear Programming
    2. Mixed Integer Programming
    3. Non-linear Programming
    4. Stochastic Programming
    5. Graph Theory
    6. Combinatorial optimization
    7. Cutting plane algorithms
    8. Applications of OR in Telecommunications and Energy
    9. Applications tools (GLPK, CPLEX, MATLAB, etc.)
   10.Heuristics and Meta heuristics
